NDOFitness is a private basketball gym that seeks to provide a space for athletes at all levels to work on their craft. We offer customized training programs, clinics, camps and birthday parties. Our team of dedicated coaches are passionate about providing a high-quality basketball experience that fosters teamwork, discipline, and dedication. Our goal is to help every athlete reach their full potential, on and off the court.

Co-founder & Head Coach
Chaz Samuel
Chaz, originally from Antigua, moved to Halifax in 2018. With a deep love for basketball, Chaz played at Tyler Junior College in Texas and represented Antigua’s national basketball team. Now, he’s focused on giving back to the community by helping the next generation of athletes reach their full potential. In 2019, Chaz co-founded No Days Off Apparel Inc., a brand designed to motivate and inspire through clothing. In 2024, he expanded his vision by opening No Days Off Fitness Inc.—the first and only private basketball facility in Nova Scotia. NDOFitness is dedicated to providing high-quality training, clinics, and camps that emphasize teamwork, discipline, and personal growth, offering a safe and inclusive space for young athletes to thrive. Through his growing social media presence, Chaz is showcasing the talent in Nova Scotia and using his platform to inspire and uplift local athletes, making it his mission to support and give back to the basketball community every step of the way.

Shayna Cort-Samuel
Always focused on making a difference, Shayna is dedicated to building a brand that creates lasting value for the community. As the backbone of the business, she handles all the behind-the-scenes operations and videos all the social media content. Her dedication, organizational skills, and attention to detail lay the foundation for NDOFitness allowing the team to focus on uplifting and empowering athletes. Shayna’s unwavering commitment and strong work ethic are integral to ensuring a positive client experience.

Trainer and Program Lead Coach
Trevor Walter
Coach Trevor Walter brings championship experience and elite-level player development to NDO. With 6 seasons as head coach of Halifax West Varsity D1 Girls, he led the program to 3 Capital Region titles, 2 provincial silver medals, and a provincial gold, building one of Nova Scotia’s most respected high school programs in the past few years. As Program Director and Head Coach of HaliBlaze, and a former coach with UPlay Atlantic AAU, Trevor has developed high-performing athletes across the province, with a focus on competing at the national and U.S. levels.​Whether you’re a young athlete looking to build a solid foundation or a serious hooper aiming for the next level, Coach Trevor delivers high-intensity, game-ready skill work rooted in results.

Trainer
Aidan Macdonald
Aidan brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for player development. As a varsity athlete, he played four years of competitive basketball at Saint Mary’s University and will continue his playing career this fall with the University of King’s College. In addition to his collegiate experience, Aidan has spent several years running basketball camps, leading group and 1-on-1 training sessions, and recently providing specialized skills training for teams. His hands-on approach and strong leadership make him a valuable asset to any athlete looking to elevate their game.

Jenna Bain
Jenna played 3 years of basketball at Charles P. Allen High School and then went on to play 5 years at the University of King’s College. Throughout her college career she was named an ACAA All Conference Player 3 times as well as a CCAA Allstar at Nationals in her final year after helping lead her team to win the championship for the first time in 24 years. For Jenna, basketball is more than just a sport—it's a powerful tool for growth and empowerment. She is deeply committed to sharing her love for the game while inspiring young athletes to unlock their full potential, on and off the court.

Trainer
Tyler Malloy
Tyler Malloy is a former point guard from Mount St. Vincent University, and is a 3x ACAA Champion. Her journey began at a young age playing for Basketball Nova Scotia. After a competitive University career Tyler played in the MWBA, representing the Windsor Edge, followed by 2 consecutive seasons with the Lake City 56ers. Tyler has years of high-level playing experience and a strong coaching background. She has coaching experience with Halifax Hurricanes, Sackville High, and also provided high performance training for the Daneesha Provo Elite Academy. Tyler specializes in player development with a focus on consistency, game intensity, form mastery, and confidence building! Her commitment to the NDO team will help athletes of all levels reach their full potential!
